Hi Friends! Happy Friday!
First of all thank you so much for the nice comments yesterday for Alan’s birthday. You all are so sweet. We had a fun time. As I was pulling into where he worked with a huge cake for everyone to share about 7:30 last night, he was leaving for the night as his boss let him go early. Talk about timing. We left the cake of course and just went home.
Trading Alan for cake, well I suppose it’s worth it.
His gift was a hit. When we visit Georgia next month he will be spending the day at Dale Jarret Racing School. I’ll let you read more about there if you’re interested, if your guy is a Nascar fan, definitely look into it. I’ll be sure to take pics and post when we get back.
And you best believe he will have the most awesome white poster board ‘GO!’ sign at the track that day. I’m busting out the Cricut for that baby.
On to today’s Five on Friday post… I’ve been doing lots of web surfing looking for ideas this past week and have run across some really cute and fun (and FREE) downloads that I wanted to share. Because “free” is good right now.
Well actually, I suppose “free” is good any time.
Here you go!
1. The So Happy Together digital kit by Emily Merrit, available at the Memory Makers Magazine site.

Isn’t that so amazingly fun? MM always posts great free downloads but this one is so my style. I have yet to play with it but will be sure to post when I do. I just love that this kit comes with corrugated cardboard too – too cute.
2. Speaking of free digital downloads, did you know Funky Playground Designs is holding a Capture the Flag contest for new designers? Did you know that you can download the entries for free to play with?
Wahoo!
Check out the contest gallery here to see all the a-mazing entries and pick some favorites. There are some incredibly talented designers turning in their very best work. And by the way, the lovely Leah is rocking this challenge.
Not to be biased or anything… but it’s my bl0g, so I totally can be.
Totally.
3. Printable Vintage Trim Tags from doe-c-doe:

Love these! I found them thanks to Jessica Jones at How About Orange. Her blog is so fun, in the off chance you haven’t found it yet, do check it out. I love it!
4. 12 X 12 Layout Planner from Organized Scrapbooks:

As well as their other wonderful layout planner pages (like 2 pagers) here. I love that the grid patterns are already drawn out for you! These are really going to help me get some ideas together.
5. And finally, lose yourself in browsing the free patterns at freequilt.com. Don’t quilt? Me neither. But can anyone say paper piecing!? Or how about felt? Wouldn’t this little cutie be even more adorable made of felt with some stitching?
Tons of patterns to be found (click on the pic for more birds). Great way to use up your scraps too!
I am so glad that it’s Friday. Mom is coming in this weekend for a little visit, and tomorrow night we are going to A Chorus Line downtown, I am geeked excited for that. We used to watch that movie over and over when I was growing up.
We will do our best not to sing along.
But are promising nothing.
Have a wonderful weekend dear friends, and hope you are able to enjoy some warm weather too. Have a great day!
Welcome and come on in! I'm Jess. I love all things crafty, and to share an artistic journey with friends like you. Relax, take a look around, and come back again soon. Thanks for stopping by!
