Five on Friday - Random Silly Pictures

From our hard drive.

Because it was a looooong week – and I feel drained…but today these are cracking me up.  And I thought they might you too.

And I’m trying to sort through our pictures on both our computers in the effort to be organized, and thus more productive.

Silly Virgo – production is for Capricorns!

First and foremost,

1.  Please meet my boyfriend:

ben-affleck

Ben Affleck.

Ok so yes that is a wax figure from the Madame Tussaud’s Museum in Las Vegas – but don’t I look genuinely happy to be on his arm?  Seriously it’s like a prom photo.  Put a balloon arch over my head and a huge banner that says ‘Midnight Masquerade’ and I am the luckiest girl in the class of 95.

2.  Dixie Dog in her birthday suit:

dixie-birthday

No it wasn’t for her birthday.  It was for Alan’s… and I did it purely to make him laugh.  (P.S. she has a Super Dog costume complete with red cape for Halloween – I am only “that” kind of dog person on holidays).

3.  The Outback:

wine-walk

In Disney World, in October, there is a wonderful thing called the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.

In Epcot’s World Showcase, there is a wonderful thing called “The Austrailian Wine Walk-a-bout” during which for a mere $8 fee you are treated to 8 different wines from the region.

This is what happens when those two wonderful things + Jess + cute hat stand + Alan with camera says “Honey! pretend you’re in the Outback!”.

I’m not sure what I’m doing there… am I about to be attacked by a crocodile?  Or did I just catch a glimpse of Crocodile Dundee after his morning dip in the river?

Alas, due to the ‘generous’ portions of wine… we will never know.

4.  What I First Learned from Uncle Alan (besides how to handle a light saber):

first-video-game_edited-1

Brother David and Lovely Sister-in-law Marian allowed Alan and I to take the boys for an evening while they visited Chicago, so they could go out and enjoy a quiet dinner together.

They had never played a video game before.

Oh David and Marian, I’m so sorry.

But like any good scrapbooker I could only stand by and watch, while I documented every single second on film.

5.  They Eye Roll of a Wife Truly Annoyed:

arizona-cliff

Don’t worry, there’s a huge ledge he’s standing on there… but he was freaking me out all the same.  And my eye roll extraordinaire was caught on film when he insisted we get the perfect photo.

Sorry honey… next time you want me to pretend to throw you off a cliff, I will do so with more gusto.

Isn’t it funny how we take some of the goofiest pictures and never end up scrapping them?  All that creative, beautiful, arty stuff has its place too… but sometimes the “goofy” is the glue that keeps us together (and sane).

Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend.  If not, go through your old pictures too, and if you had a hard week, use them to remember that some of life’s greatest and most memorable moments are  the silly ones.  ;)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!

  • Lisa Carroll

LOL. These are great pictures and great laughs. You know what is also fun to do in Epcot…drinking a beer in each country. Although I highly recommend taking it slow. Otherwise strange things are likely to occur later in the day.
