I know I’ve been hiding… I’m feeling all rebellious by not posting, isn’t that sad? Made me realize a little break might be in order.
But it’s not lasting very long.
Just catching up on some ‘real’ life things.
And have a HUGE urge to scrap.
Though my darn scraproom is a wreck yet again, and that’s also made me realize it’s time to purge some things.
If I haven’t yet found a use for that package of jingle bells I bought in 2004 for no apparent reason than it’s time to let them go.
Purging your creative space is so hard isn’t it? Everything you touch you think “Oh but that’s got to be something! I just know it is! What do you want to be little piece of junk….. what’s yet to come of you paper from 2005 with cutsie little moons and stars!?”
See… break needed.
I actually had to threaten my husband within an inch of his life for removing a box of old envelopes from ye olde purge trash bag by the way.
Me: “Don’t… don’t…. ALAN DO NOT take those out of there! I swear!”
Him: “But honey…. these are good! You can MAKE something with them someday!”
Me: “DO not… no, no…. step awaaaaay from my room. Do not go in there, do not go through that bag, do NOT judge me for what I must do”.
Him: “But…”
Me: “Eh eh! Shhh!”
Him: “Fine. Just please promise you won’t throw out anything you can actually use”.
Me: I’ve walked away at this point for fear of serious marital damage.
Anyway, I’ve been soaking up some inspiration here and there and just thought I’d share it today. Unfortunately, none for old cutsie paper or jingle bells, but they aren’t curb-side just yet.
1. This amazing website(Yeondoo Jung) which shows children’s drawings turned into photographs:

Found throughDudeCraft. I just love seeing these images come to life.
2. My new coffee maker from Keurig:

It’s so lovely. It’s quiet, it’s sleek… it makes iced coffee. It’s a complete self indugence that I’ve just wanted for some time.
Hey… self-indulgence = good thing for your creative side.
And caffeine helps too of course.
3. Beautiful paintings on Etsy. Like this one from The Poppy Tree:

4. Watching old movies that I love.
Like this one:

And this one:

5. And… browsing through old silly photos rather than trying to take the perfect new one. Even if they are incredibly blurry, out of focus, and I have no idea why they were taken:

Have a really wonderful weekend all. I owe you a project for Wednesday!
XOXO. And see you again soon.
Welcome and come on in! I'm Jess. I love all things crafty, and to share an artistic journey with friends like you. Relax, take a look around, and come back again soon. Thanks for stopping by!
