Healthy Recipe Sites (for those who don’t necessarily like to eat “healthy”)

Well I just had every intention to share with you some of my favorite family recipes today.  And then on my way home from work, I remembered a critical thing… all my recipes and cookbooks are still packed away while we await repairs on our house

So scratch that idea for now…

But…

I did want to also share with you some of my favorite places to find recipes, specifically those that are Weight Watcher friendly as I just jumped back on board the old WW wagon to take off these last 15 pounds  (if you were paying attention back then… yes it previously was only 10… *sigh*).

I like these sites because they give ideas meant to take the place of not-so-good for you foods, like pizza, burritos, and for the mid-western girl in me lots and lots of casseroles.   These aren’t fancy, don’t require a lot of new foods you might not be used to, and yes can utilize things from a can.  I’ll stand right beside you when you chant fresh and low sodium is better, but sometimes you just need this kind of stuff (and your husband will eat it).

  First up is Aimee’s Adventures

Aimee has followed Weight Watchers for many years, and along the way has come up with such recipe gems as Cola Chicken (chicken with a bar-b-q sauce made with diet coke… seriously it is delicious!)  and Hershey Bar Haystacks.  These are made with Fiber One cereal so extremely low in points!

 Next is Recipes from Friends.

This is a great sharing site for recipes many have tried and loved.  My favorite so far has to be Crockpot Breakfast.  Talk about your easiest holiday morning fare ever.

Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone (Or DWLZ) you may have already heard of since she has had over 56 MILLION hits on her site.  My main love for Dottie comes from the points values she has listed for just about every restaurant menu ever.  (Yes of course WW does not endorse her, can’t be held accountable, might not be accurate, yada yada yada.  It’s helpful!) Small disclaimer though - Dottie has a LOT of ads on her site, but if I had 56 million of you checking in with me I would probably look to make a few cents off that too. ;) )

So there are a few sites for your perusing pleasure today, and I hope you find something fun or tasty that you might like to try.  If you are on the WW band wagon with me (or any other quest to drop a few pounds) I wish you much success!

Thanks for stopping by today!
