Fondue Funtastic

1

My little sister turned 21 yesterday!  And for her birthday dinner she chose The Melting Pot.  An “all fondue” extravaganza.  How wonderfully retro.

2

Cause I don’t think she does… that means I look 31… (cough cough)

3

But the restaurant thought she did, and gleefully offered up sparkling wine upon request.   Good thing… she forgot her license. *eye roll*

4

Course #1 was so delicious!  A mixture of cheeses, white wine, sundried tomato, and roasted garlic.  Complete with veggies, breads, and green apple chunks for dipping.  The apples were amazing with this!

5

Big sister got a big girl drink.  A Cosmo with Limoncello…. oy, yum.

6

Course #2 was a scrumptious spinach and mushroom salad, with bacon and hot sweet tangy dressing.  Oh it was so, so good.

7

And then the really fun part!  Course #3 where we cooked right at the table.  We were served plates of marinated steak, pork, shrimp, sundried tomato chicken, little pasta pillows filled with mushrooms and marscapone cheese, and lovely sauces to accompany them all.  You place a piece of meat in simmering broth at the table, and in 1-2 minutes treat yourself to a wonderful flavorful bite!  The lobster was my fave. :)

8

Finally dessert!  Of course accompanied by a candle.

9

Yeah.  Eat your heart out.  For Course #4 Vickie chose the white chocolate fondue with an amaretto kicker.  Oh. My. Lord.  And these were all the wonderful things we got to dip into that.  Those are Oreo covered marshmallows in the front if you’re wondering… and promptly after eating one, they had to peel me off the ceiling.

We had such a fun time.  And are still very full.

Today we shopped and found such CUTE stuff.  Can’t wait to share.  Tonight we’re going to see Watchmen so must make this a quick post and run.  Though we did already get our tickets so should be ok….

And by the way, she did get ID’d for rated R movie tickets.  *sigh*

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend… don’t forget to stop by tomorrow!  Give-a-way!  And I did a layout!  Holy heck!

Have a great night!
