Hi! I’m Jess, a mid-western girl born and raised now living in the big city. Married for 7 years to my wonderful husband, “mom and dad” to our two cats and pound puppy. I love all things crafty, arty, theatery, and chocolately.
Formerly an actress turned regular day-jobber, I started to search for a creative outlet through which I could still express myself. I was always a writer, and sometimes a crafter, but the two never really connected until I discovered the amazing online community of scrapbookers. One thing led to another, and I began this blog in October 2007 with the hopes of having an online journal give me the little oomph I would need from time to time to get my creative mojo flowing. I had no idea it would grow to become such a huge part of who I am! Because I’m never quite convinced my works in progress or life is necessarily entertaining enough (hee) I’m always searching for inspiration, techniques, and just good fun stuff to post too.
It means the world to me to be able to share ideas and make new friends through such a meaningful hobby, and each comment from you is completely treasured. I really mean it when I say “Thanks for stopping by!”.

* Disclosure: In October 2009 the FTC passed a new law stating that bloggers who receive free products need to be sure to disclose the “material relationship” between themselves and thems that provided said free product. This is to make sure you aren’t tricked into buying something that I say is excellent, which I am only saying is excellent, because I received it for free.
So let me just be clear (meaning I’m skipping all the legal mumbo jumbo).
I will never positively endorse anything I feel doesn’t deserve it, whether I got it for free or no. If a company wishes to have my opinion on something, I will give it, unbeholden to any obligation to be gushy. I don’t dig that kind of endorsement, and wouldn’t appreciate it as a reader.
That said there’s not a lot I don’t like out there, and am a glass half-full kind of gal, so will always find ’something’ positive to say. I don’t bash products I don’t like either, because I’m a firm believer in to each her own.
Still, any posts which do contain products I received for free will always contain a statement of where they are from and my relationship with them (design team, won a contest, wanted me to try it out) etc just so you know. Usually because I’m just so stinkin ecstatic that they chose me, and I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops.
